Windhoek Consulting Engineers (PTY) Ltd has a vacancy for an Engineer: Culverts, experienced in Rail and Rural Transport Engineering. The position is site-based.
 Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive culvert designs aligning with project and industry standards.
- Ensure designs account for various factors, including water flow dynamics and load-bearing requirements.
- Conduct thorough hydraulic analyses to determine optimal culvert sizing and placement.
- Consider factors such as water volume, flow rates, and potential impacts on surrounding areas.
- Provide hands-on supervision during culvert construction activities.
- Ensure adherence to design specifications, proper installation techniques, and alignment with project timelines.
- Implement rigorous quality control measures for culvert materials and construction processes.
- Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with regulatory standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors and environmental engineers.
- Ensure seamless coordination between culvert design and overall project goals, addressing any potential conflicts or challenges proactively.
- Processing and management of associated reporting/documentation.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- BSc Civil, B Eng Civil, or B Tech (Civil).
- At least 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in a similar environment.
- Experienced in Rural Roads & Railway type projects.
- Design and supervision of civil engineering- and building-type projects.
- Project life cycle project management skills.
- Fluent Caddie/Autocad and Civil Designer skills.
- Exceptional communication, report writing, and computer skills.
- Professional registration with ECN.
- Valid Driver’s License.
