Windhoek Consulting Engineers (PTY) Ltd has a vacancy for an experienced Electrical Engineer in its Windhoek office. The candidate will be responsible for the implementation of electrical and electronic type projects throughout Namibia.
 Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems and components: The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and components that meet project specifications, requirements, and standards. This includes creating schematics, circuit diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Test and evaluate electrical systems and components: The Electrical Engineer will test and evaluate the electrical systems and components to ensure they meet performance, safety, and quality standards. This includes performing functional and stress tests, debugging and troubleshooting issues and analysing test results to identify improvements.
- Ensuring electrical systems and components meet safety, performance, and quality standards.
- Collaborating with other engineers and cross-functional teams on projects.
- Providing technical support to other departments and stakeholders.
- Responsible for project management and planning, including scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, contract administration and payment valuations.
- Developing and implementing quality control procedures.
- Conducting feasibility studies and research to identify solutions to engineering problems.
- Write technical reports and provide technical support to other departments: The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for documenting their work, including writing technical reports, test reports, and other documentation as required.
- Provide technical support: The electrical engineer will provide technical support to other departments, including answering technical questions, providing training and mentorship, and collaborating on projects.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and new technologies: The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for staying up-to-date with industry developments and new technologies.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- B.Sc. (Hons) Electrical/Electronic, B.Eng. Electrical/Electronic or B.Tech. (Electrical/Electronic);
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience as an electrical/electronic consulting engineer.
- Registration as professional or incorporated engineer with ECN or ECSA will be advantageous.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Beneficial Skills & Experience:
- Project implementation experience;
- Renewable energy design experience;
- Building services & infrastructure project designs experience;
- Familiarity with Fidic, JBCC and GCC contract agreements;
- Exceptional communication, report writing and computer skills;
- Experience in Revit/Autocad software packages.
